Setting The setting of Feed is the characters start out on the moon for a fun getaway and then they were hacked in a club by a hacker and their feed was messed up temporarily. The feed is basically a computer in your brain and you also use it to talk to people. After they were fixed from being hacked they went back to their homeland on earth. Their home is very futuristic. They have flying cars called upcars. S This is a flying car. This is the moon.

Rising Action The rising action in this story would be when Violet starts to have her legs and arms freeze up. Violet’s arms and legs would not work because her feed in her head did not fit properly. The reason the feed did not fit properly is because most children get their feed when they are born or up until they are a toddler for it to fit correctly. Violet got hers when she was six years old. When she got it installed she did not remember anything before she got the feed. This is a picture of a brain and it represents the feed.

Climax The climax of the story is when Violet and Titus got into a fight in the car. They would not speak to each other. The fight was over Violet making Titus take her home from the party because she thought that Titus’ friends were making fun of her and did not like her. This is a picture of boxing gloves that represents the verbal fight that Titus and Violet had in the upcar.

Falling Action The falling action in this story is when Violet was starting to get sick because of the feed. Titus did not know that Violet was going to die. He did not go to see her because he was still mad about the fight they had. This is a picture of a sick person that represents Violet.

Conflict One conflict was when Titus and Violet went to the party and Violet got mad at Titus’ friends. Violet felt Titus’ friends were making fun of her. After they made fun of her she wanted to go home. Another conflict was when Titus and his friends went to the moon Titus did not want Violet to think that he and his friends were fools because of Link and Marty. The last conflict was when Violet and Titus went on a trip into the wild. When they were at a hotel they got into a fight. After that Violet went home and then she got sick and slowly started to die. These are all examples of man vs. man.

Theme and Resolution The theme and resolution in Feed by M.T. Anderson is to value something while you have it because it may not be yours forever. The moral of the story is when Titus stops speaking to Violet because of an argument, but then Violet falls very ill and Titus then finds out that she was going to die, but he has lost a lot of time that he could have been spending with his friend. This is a picture of someone that is sick which is Violet.

Mood The mood of Feed by M.T. Anderson is a very silly and a laid back type of story. The reason why the story is always silly and laid back is because it seems like they were always having a good time until the end of the story when Violet starts to die. Here is an example from the story. “ Later after some showers we went to the Ricochet Lounge. It was a lo-grav/no-grav, and it was all about whamming one person into another in big stuffed suits. The place had been hip, like, a year and a half ago. The slogan was “ Slam the Ones You Love!”. Feed by M.T. Anderson pg. 9
