4 To connect a mobile device or an Emulator to SeeTest : A physical external mobile device – such as Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian or WindowsMobile – using a standard USB cable or WiFi (note - there is as well an on-site Cloud configuration that enables central management of devices and remote access to testing) an emulator Connecting the device (or Emulator) enables to record tests and run them on the mobile device (or Emulator). Step 2: A pop-up will appear. Type in the project name and then click OK.

5 Step 1: In SeeTest, select New Project from the File menu.

7 SeeTest is using XML-RPC to communicate between the client (language specific) and the agent that is a part of the SeeTest studio. the agent is running on a well known port (the default is 8888).

11 The device should be “USB debugging” enabled (In most devices, to enable “USB Debugging” go to: Settings->Applications- >Development and set the USB debugging to enable.)

12 Connect the device to SeeTest In SeeTest go to the Device Tab and click the Add Device icon (and select Android from the dropdown list):

13 A pop up will appear and you will then see the name of the Android device. Click on the device name and then on the OK button.

14 The selected device will appear in the Device Tab. Select it and click the Open Device icon (check that it’s status changes from Ready to Open).

15 The device screen should then appear then on your desktop.

16 Step 1: To start recording a script on a mobile device with Native recorder, you need to: have your mobile device connected by USB to your computer have the device screen then appear on your computer screen (for device connectivity instructions please follow our Connect Device instructions in this manual)Connect Device

17 Step 2: In SeeTest, go to the Script tab and click on the Record button. choose the device to be recorder, and choose the tested application name

18 Step 3: Go to the device screen appearing on your computer screen (With the app launched on it), and do the exact sequence of actions you want in the test. In this example, i would like to run a test in "eriBank" application that Logs in to my bank account, so I'll do the following sequence of actions: click on "Username" field, send 'company', Click on "password", send 'company', click on "Login" button, right-click on "Make Payment" button to verify that it is found. Few best practices when recording: (1) Click at the center of the image/icon/link (2) Record slowly

20 Step 4: Return to SeeTest and click on the Stop Record button.

21 Step 5: You will see a progress bar indicating the record data is being analyzed, and the test script will then appear in the Script area.

23 Step 6: Click the Play button to run the script:Play

24 Step 7: Once the test has been executed, you will receive a report indicating for each test step if it was executed successfully or not, including a screenshot of the tested application in run time. Step 8: You can run the test script from UFT (QTP), TestComplete, RFT, JUnit, Python, Perl or C# and other frameworks. To do so, click the Export code button, copy the code into your framework and run it from the framework
