Analysing 3 opening title sequences. Jack Harman

Casino Royale (Martin Campbell) The trailer starts with the typical James Bond shooting through a hole and then blood running down the screen. Then there is the names of the most important people and Daniel Craig’s name comes up because he is helping to sell the film. When the names come up it sticks to the theme of cards because the film is called ‘Casino Royale’ so they link the film in with the opening title sequence. Some gun cross hairs come on to the screen and some turn into roulette spinners again linking the two themes of a casino and special agents.

Casino Royale (Martin Campbell) To stick to the theme of cards and casinos there is an agent sitting on some card patterns who gets up and shoots his gun as he does this the ‘jack’ from the pack of cards pulls up a gun and shoots out a heart linking the two themes of casino and special agent. The 7 of hearts come sup on screen and some cross hairs aim and shot two holes next to the 7 in the corner creating the ‘007’ they do this to link the main character the environment of a casino.

Se7en (David Fincher) The opening title sequence to Se7en uses distressed writing font to draw the viewers attention they also use it to link to the themes of psycho and thriller. In this film in the opening title Sequence they use there main actors name in this case it is Brad Pitt and they do it to help sell the movie again they use the same writing to create an enigma on why its like that and what’s happening And again they use another big actors This time it being Morgan Freeman to try sell the movie better. In the film they use scratchy effects making it look like something that shouldn’t be happening is happening and someone is writing things down and the audience want to know what. They do this by using a lot of close ups of the mans hands or his books and it creates and enigma code again.

Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock) They start by using Alfred Hitchcock's name and this alone draws the attention of the audience because he is a very well known good director. In this trailer they use distressed words for the word psycho and it makes the audience wonder why it is like this. Throughout this whole opening title sequence it is just grey lines knocking words of the screen and bringing more on and making the audience wonder why its so dark and why you cant see anyone.
