5 Schedules were sent earlier this week Students take 4 core classes per year: Language Arts, Math, Science & Social Studies. Students take 4 semesters of electives per year. They rotate on an A-Day/B-Day basis. All students take PE/Health for a semester. Enrichment daily from 3:45pm – 4:15pm Homework zone, study hall, relooping, reading time, character education, Teen Time

6 Arrival – not before 8:45am Lockers (rental fee and form come home day one) First Block – Academics Second Block – Academics and Lunch Lunch with 2 nd block teacher beginning at 10:50am Third Block – Academics Fourth Block – Electives Enrichment – 4:15pm Car riders and ASEP first, buses called by grade level, walkers last

7 Will only be done for clear errors in LA and/or Math placement** An error with Band/Orchestra An error with EC/Inclusion All requests MUST be placed in writing to the grade level counselor Elective change requests will result in your child being placed on a Wait List

9 Protecting class time for ALL students is a top priority. For early dismissals - To limit interruptions, please send a note with your child indicating the time you will arrive; have your child bring the note directly to the office. Please be prompt. Minimize deliveries( lunch deliveries – you will need to sign in at the main office and take the labeled lunch to the cafeteria) Call the GLA for emergency situations

10 Students must be in the classroom from bell to bell. Please no early dismissals after 3:45pm Tardies will not be acceptable – any block; on third unexcused tardy, consequences will begin Allow time for Traffic – if late, you will have to park and come to the office to sign your child into school

11 Visitor badges – Buzzer and Camera system coming Student IDs Students only released to person on emergency blue card – please return these to school School-Wide Discipline Plan Rights and Responsibilities Handbook enforced equitably – access via CMS website Dress Code – no racerback tanks or yoga pants Cell Phone/Electronics Policy (BYOT*)

12 Communication protocol – we have th grade students Always start with the teacher Grade Level Counselor or Administrator Make appointments Parent Conference Day is Tuesday; call or Ms. Baker

13 Extracurricular Activities Offered: Sports (not until 7 th grade) Fine Arts Band/Orchestra Chess Club, OEX, NAL, Science Olympiad, Math Counts, Battle of the Books – KIDS need to listen to AM Announcements for info We want your child to get involved
