INTRODUCTION Coronal polishing is a technique used to remove plaque and stains from the coronal surfaces of the teeth. It is important to understand the difference between coronal polishing and a dental prophylaxis, which is also known as a cleaning to remove calculus.
BENEFITS OF CORONAL POLISHING Fluorides are better accepted into the enamel. Polishing prepares the teeth for placement of dental sealants. Smooth tooth surfaces are easier for the patient to keep clean.
