2 This is the scale we use in the United States of America. The scale is divided into 180 intervals called degrees. It was invented by Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit in 1724.

3 We measure temperature using a thermometer. When reading a thermometer, you need to measure up to the red line. This tells you the temperature. If you are sick, your body temperature will be greater than 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

4 The freezing point of water is 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The boiling point of water is 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

6 People usually keep the temperature in a room at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a comfortable inside temperature.

7 If it is 70 degrees Fahrenheit outside, you can wear normal clothes outside.

8 If it is 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside, you will want to go swimming.

9 If it is 40 degrees Fahrenheit outside, you will want to wear a jacket outside.
