3 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM PURPOSE and SCOPE To ensure that the provision of service is maintained at the highest standard. To ensure that all ATS units and personnel apply policies, standards, rules and separation minima in an approved manner.

4 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM PURPOSE and SCOPE Assessing service provided Ensuring operating procedures conform to National Standards. Reviewing all agreements Informing Manager of potentially unsafe procedures. Detecting problem areas, identifying deficiencies.

5 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM PURPOSE and SCOPE Examining personnel utilization and workload. Assessing and reporting on equipment issues. Reviewing training programs. Ensuring operational personnel are in compliance with CARs ( controller proficiency ). Document deficiencies.

8 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM Cycle Routine Evaluations Every Two Calendar Years for Area Control Centres and High Density Control Towers Every Three Calendar Years for Other Units

9 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM Interim Evaluations When Required as a Follow-up to a Routine Review Follow-up of a Transport Canada Audit.

10 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM Special Evaluations As Required to Examine Perceived or Actual Problem Areas When, through the daily monitoring of the ATS System, circumstances indicate that a review is required in a particular area.

11 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM Report Check list style of report. Report ensures standardization of evaluation. Provides a complete record of what was checked during the evaluation.

12 ATS EVALUATION PROGRAM The reports contain 5 accountabilities. –Safety and Quality –Customer Service –Management of Human Resources –Management of Financial Resources –Management of Physical Resources

13 Unit Evaluations Follow-up Unit Manager is responsible for follow-up to correct identified Deficiencies. Critical deficiencies must be corrected immediately Response if required within 60 days for others

14 Transport Canada Conduct Audits of all ATS Units Conduct Inspections Rated against regulated areas specified in CARs
