2 5 in 5 10-23-09 1. Weather in your area of the country (may / will not) be different from weather in another part of the state or country. 2. Land absorbs heat from the sun (slower / faster) than bodies of water. 3. Mountains and large bodies of water such as _________ and huge lakes have the most affect on weather patterns. 4. Clouds are made up of tiny __________ of water. 5. Visible water vapor near the earth is called _______________.

3 Landforms10-23-09 1. The surface of the earth does not stay the same; it changes over a period of time. 2. These changes occur through the slow process of weathering and erosion. 3. Weathering and erosion are caused by wind, water, glaciers (ice), and the force of gravity.

4 Can We Find Signs of Weathering and Erosion?  Take a piece of drawing paper and fold it to make four blocks.  Take a walk around the SAS campus. We visited the front of the auditorium, behind the fence at the ball field and around the back steps of the gym.  Draw and color four pictures of weathering and erosion that you found.
