1 Objectives 1. Interpret, comprehend, and teach The Anglo- Saxons section of the book using Inspirations. 2. Use the technology available in OneNote to take notes from the LCD projector. 3. Show comprehension of Beowulf sections by different modes of technology combined with art. 4. Better prepare students for the world of technology.

2 Activities The students will be assigned a section in the Anglo-Saxon background. After reading their section, the students will create an Inspirations web to share with the class the important aspects of their section. In Inspirations, students will add to their web the information shared by their classmates. Discussion can take place verbally at this point. Quiz will follow the next day. Teacher will then share notes over Beowulf, epic poem, and epic hero using the LCD. Students will use OneNote to copy these notes. Discussion will take place verbally at this point. Students will read the epic poem and draw what is going on in each section. Various modes of art and technology can be used. They can perform a play, do a PowerPoint presentation, use any draw tool, find pictures from the internet, create a poster, etc. They then share these with the class. After a clear understanding of the poem is created, students will then use the definitions of epic poem and epic hero and draw a connection between the definitions and Beowulf – Typed response on Word. Discussion questions will be posted on WebCT that relate Beowulf to real life situations.

3 Assessment Assessment will be a final test Assessment will be a final test Points for being involved in the discussion on WebCT Points for being involved in the discussion on WebCT Other assignments will be graded using rubrics. Other assignments will be graded using rubrics.

4 10 Questions 1. Notes are already in My Documents. I will present them over the LCD. 2. Assignments will have an orientation on all technology beforehand and assignments will be told verbally, through WebCT and my website. 3. Students will be interacting with one another by questions and presentations, physically typing notes, creating art, or using the WebCT and Inspirations. 4. On WebCT, through presentations, and email. 5. Because the students will use Word to make a connection between Beowulf and epic poem and epic hero, I can use the Tablet to write comments in order for them to know what they did right or wrong, so they can understand for the final test. 6. Rubrics and the use of the technology. 7. Lids will be down or turned when not in use. 8. Challenges will be the curiosity of the students with something new. I would like to give students enough time to experiment and play before they start the assignment. 9. Repeatable. 10.Not at this point. I would like to have time myself to play with the Tablet.
