18 18 Federal Aviation Administration Planning and Programming 1. ARRA accomplishments. We’re extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish, in partnership with airports, states, consultants and contractors. We awarded 100% of the funds available for grants at 334 airports, creating or funding an estimated 6,000 jobs nationwide. Thanks to everyone involved. 2. Jobs bill. Everything we’re hearing at the moment suggests that there won’t be an airports component in a jobs bill. However, we’re really focused on getting access to the remaining $1.5 billion that Congress appropriated for AIP in FY-2010. We’re optimistic that Congress will extend our authorization beyond March 31. 3. Split-year AIP. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we implement a split-year AIP program for the third year in a row. It’s complicated for all parties involved, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through the issues.
