IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Introduction There is a need to have several coding schemes that cover the performance/complexity spectrum

IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Proposed Coding Schmes We propose to include the following coding schemes: Convolutional Codes Concatenated RS-Convolutional codes LDPC Codes Turbo Codes

IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Incremental Redundancy Each of the proposed coding schemes have been shown to operate in an incremental redundancy fashion

IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Simulations

IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Coding Shortened RS block lengths can be chosen so as to fit in n numbers of resource blocks –The concatenated scheme offers a gain over using only convolutional codes for a low overhead The exact Turbo and LDPC codes to use is FFS

IEEE C802.16m-08/539 Text Proposed Text: “The coding schemes used in 802.16m will be Convolutional Codes Concatenated shortened RS-Convolutional LDPC codes Turbo codes
