Check the Sparkman Course Selection Guide for details on course requirements, required fees, and pre-requisites, 2. Students may request application courses but they must also complete an application and turn it in by February 22nd to the Guidance Office. Applications for selected courses are available on the SHS web site and in TAP conferences Feb 4th -15th. A list selected students will be posted outside the Guidance Office by March 7th. Alternate electives will be requested for students not approved in place of the application class. 3. Students may request courses requiring an audition or try-out. Auditions/tryouts dates and times will be advertised by announcement and on the SHS website. All auditions/tryouts will be completed prior to April 1st. A list of selected students will be posted outside the Guidance Office by April 1st. Alternate electives will be requested for students not selected. 4. Students may request approval courses. After March 7th a list of students requesting the courses will be given to the instructors for approval. A list of selected students will be posted outside the Guidance Office by March 24th. Alternate electives will be requested for students not selected. 5. Students may NOT sign up for Honors English or Honors History courses. Qualified students will be placed in these courses. Placement testing is required for any interested 9th grader or transfer student in grades 10 or 11. Students currently in honors English or History must have an 80 average to proceed to the next honors course. Placement testing is March 25-28. See schedule on SHS web site. Students removed from a performance based class will be placed in a physical education class I (parent/guardian) have reviewed the course descriptions for our selections in the course selection guide. This student meets the prerequisite requirements for the course selections. and any necessary signatures have been obtained. My child does_______ does not_________ have an IEP.
