3. The Tortoise and the Hare The hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never yet been beaten," said he, "when I put forth my full speed. I challenge anyone here to race with me." The tortoise said quietly, "I accept your challenge." "That is a good joke," said the hare. "I could dance around you all the way." "Keep your boasting until you've beaten," answered the tortoise. "Shall we race?" So a course was fixed and a start was made. The hare darted almost out of sight at once, but soon stopped and, to show his contempt for the tortoise, lay down to have a nap. Just at the moment, a hunter went by, he saw that the door was open, there must be something, He came inside and saw the wolf with a big stomach, he brought a pair of big scissors, opened up the wolf's stomach, saved Little Small Hat and her grandma. Then they brought some big stones and put them in the wolf's stomach, and oversewed it. 7. The Rabbit And The Tortoise In the animals sports game, a rabbit and a tortoise both joined a long-distance race. Every other animal thought of course the winner would be the rabbit, the rabbit thought so too. When the race just began, the rabbit ran fast like a flying arrow, without minutes, disappeared in distance. However,the tortoise seemed not to move much. When the rabbit looked back and saw nothing, he thought the tortoise would never catch up in any case, why not sleep for a while? He did so. 8. The Emperor's New Clothes Long ago and far away, there lived an Emperor. This Emperor was very vain and could think about nothing but his clothes. He had wardrobes and cupboards full of clothes. They filled his spare bedrooms and upstairs corridors of the palace. The Emperor spent hours every morning getting dressed. He had to choose his outfit, preferable a new one, and the shoes and wig to go with it. Mid-morning, he invariably changed into something more formal for his short meetings with his counsellors and advisors. He would change again for lunch, and then again for a rest in the afternoon.
