Outline Dragmode Drawing Circles Drawing Arcs Drawing Ellipses Regular Polygons Drawing Rectangles Drawing Donuts and Solid Circles Using the Revision Cloud

Dragmode Dragmode affects the visibility of the rubberband, a stretch line that extends from the crosshairs during certain drawing commands Dragmode -> [ON,OFF,Auto]:

Drawing Circles Type C or Circle Four Ways of Drawing a circle Center – Radius (default) 3 point 2 point Tan Tan Radius Tan Tan Tan

Exercise 1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Set the circlerad system variable to 0. 3. Use the Center, Radius option of the circle command to draw a circle similar to the one shown in Figure 4 ‑ 3. 4. Use the Center, Diameter option of the circle command to draw the circle shown in Figure 4 ‑ 4. 5. Draw two vertical parallel lines 10 units apart. Use the 2 Points option of the circle command to draw a circle tangent to the two lines. 6. Use the 3 Points option of the circle command to draw the circle shown in Figure 4 ‑ 6. 7. Use the Tan, Tan, Radius option of the circle command to draw the circles shown in Figure 4 ‑ 7. 8. Use the Tan, Tan, Tan option to draw circles tangent to existing objects, as in Figure 4 ‑ 8. 9. Set circlerad to.5 and draw circles using each circle command option. Compare the prompts with those from the first circles drawn in this exercise. 10. Save the drawing as EX4-1.

Drawing Arcs Type A or Arc Three Point Arc Start, Center, End (1 st point, C, end point) Start, Center, Angle (1 st point, C, A) Start, Center, Length (1 st point, C, L) Start, End, Angle ( 1 st point, E, A) Start, End, Direction (1 st, E, D) Start, End, Radius (1 st, E, R)

Exercises 1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Use the 3 Points option of the ARC command to draw arcs similar to the one shown in Figure 4 ‑ 10. 3. Use the Start, Center, End option of the ARC command to draw the arc shown in Figure 4 ‑ 11. 4. Use the Start, Center, Angle option of the ARC command to draw the arcs shown in Figure 4 ‑ 12. 5. Use the Start, Center, Length option of the ARC command to draw the arcs shown in Figure 4 ‑ 13. 6. Save the drawing as EX4-2.

1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Use the Start, End, Angle option of the ARC command to draw arcs similar to those shown in Figure 4 ‑ 14. 3. Use the Start, End, Direction option of the ARC command to draw the arcs shown in Figure 4 ‑ 15. 4. Use the Start, End, Radius option of the ARC command to draw the arcs shown in Figure 4 ‑ 16. 5. Save the drawing as EX4-3.

1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Use the Center, Start, End option of the ARC command to draw the arc shown in Figure 4 ‑ 17. 3. Use the Center, Start, Angle option of the ARC command to draw arcs similar to those shown in Figure 4 ‑ 18. 4. Use the Center, Start, Length option of the ARC command to draw arcs similar to those shown in Figure 4 ‑ 19. 5. Use the ARC command and the Continue option to draw the arcs shown in Figure 4 ‑ 20. 6. Use the ARC command and the Continue option as described in the textbook to draw an arc connected to a previously drawn line, as shown in Figure 4 ‑ 21. 7. Save the drawing as EX4-4.

1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Use the Center option of the ELLIPSE command to draw the ellipse shown in Figure 4 ‑ 23. 3. Use the Center and Rotation options of the ELLIPSE command to draw ellipses similar to those in Figure 4 ‑ 24. 4. Use the Axis, End option of the ELLIPSE command to draw the ellipses shown in Figure 4 ‑ 25. 5. Save the drawing as EX4-5.

Ellipses and Elliptical Arcs Type Ellipse Center (C, Ep 1, Ep2) Rotation Axis, End Elliptical Arcs Ellipse -> Arc Parameter option (P) Included angle option (I)

1. Start a new drawing using one of your templates. 2. Use the Arc option of the ELLIPSE command to draw the following elliptical arcs: A. Use axis endpoints, a second axis distance, a 0° start angle, and a 90° end angle to create an elliptical arc similar to the one in Figure 4 ‑ 26. B. Use the same options as in the previous instructions to draw a 0° to 180° arc, a 0° to 270° arc, and a 90° to 270° arc, similar to the examples in Figure 4 ‑ 26. C. Use the Parameter option to draw an elliptical arc of your own design. D. Use the Rotation option to rotate an elliptical arc 45° about its axis. E. Use the Included angle option to draw an elliptical arc with a 180° included angle and another with a 90° included angle. F. Use the Center option to draw an elliptical arc of your own design. 3. Save the drawing as EX4-6.

Drawing Regular Polygons Type Polygon Specify sides

Drawing Rectangles Rectang Width (W) Chamfered (C) Fillet (F) Area (after first point, then A) Dimensions (after first point, D) Rotation (after fist point, R)
