2 Today We Will…  Identify elements of comedy in Shakespeare  Read and comprehend Act I, Scene I of Shakespeare’s, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

3 Shakespeare -Who’s heard of this guy? -1564-1616 -Actor and playwright -Wrote 37 plays, 154 sonnets, 2 narrative poems -Played a huge role in shaping the English language “He was not of an age, but for all time!” - Ben Johnson
