1 Oliver twist Paris boys progress Charles Dickens Genre-Children’s story; detective story; novel of social protest. Time & Place- 1837-38 London Oliver is about an orphan who runs away from an orphanage because he got in trouble for asking for more food. He ends up living with a group of boys that are trained professionals at pickpocketing by an old mentor. Oliver ends up getting in trouble but catches a bad man and earns tons of money. Oliver then becomes really rich and becomes a great grandfather.

2 Similarities Differences They are both novels published by Charles Dickens They were based in London and written in past tense. Also they were written in the Victorian era. The original language is English. They both went through a had time. Whilst David Copperfield narrates his story from when he was born until grew up into man hood and was written in first person, Oliver Twist does not narrate his whole life story and it was written in third person. David Copperfield had dreamy tone, however Oliver Twist had a emotional and ironic tone.
