Background info Was born in Chicago Cooks Country Hospital to Louis and Mamie Till in July 25th 1940 Emmett never knew his father who died in WWII At age 5, he was diagnosed with Polio, but recovered but left with a stutter He went to an all-black McCosh Elementary School He grew up in Mecca although black and whites were segregated, it still remained an unmoving business period for blacks He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh
A Boyish Prank Call The murder of Emmett Till started out a regular day, when his cousin randomly dared him to talk to a white woman in a corner store shop. He accepted the offer, and ended up buying some candy, then said Bye Baby to the woman who worked there. Later that week they were notified to leave the town, due to Harassment. They did not leave, and soon a couple days later, Emmett was abducted. They later found his body in the Tallahatchie River.
Trial Jury of the Court for the people pleading guilty were all white men and almost all were found not guilty
