4 Meet my Favorite Actor Ewan Gordon McGregor was born on March 31, 1971 in Crieff, Scotland. Family incudes his father James Charles Stuart McGregor, his mother Carole Diane Lawson and his brother Colin McGregor. He is currently married to Eve Mavarkis. Ewan McGregor has been in many TV series but the movies he stars in are truly fantastic. Some of these movies include Being Human, Shallow Grave, Blue Juice, The Pillow Book, Trainspotting, The Serpent’s Kiss, A Life Less Ordinary, Nightwatch, Star Wars Trilogy, Moulin Rouge and many, many more! An interesting fact about Ewan McGregor Ewan auditioned for the role of Mercutio in the 1996 Baz Lhurmann film Romeo + Juliet. This is the second time Leonardo DiCaprio has been chosen over him. He was later reunited with Lhurmann in Moulin Rouge!. Click here to return to the Table of Contents

5 Moulin Rouge! Review The movie Moulin Rouge! is a classic. It embodies the spirit of love and how nothing is fair in love and war. It tells the beautiful story of the young, English writer Christian and the beautiful courtesan Satine. Together they find a love that seems to be powerful enough to bring down anything in their path, but alas it cannot. The evil Duke plans on making Satine his own and refuses to ‘share’ her. Satine must try to give up the one thing she has every cherished to protect Christian, she must give up his love. This movie looks crazy and insane but it is a story told throughout the ages just in a modern perspective. Moulin Rouge! is a movie full of vibrant colors, skilled dancing, and creative music it’s so hard not to like it! Click here to return to the Table of Contents

6 A “Must See” Movie This movie deserves an academy award because of its new twist on an age old problem. From the fantastic soundtrack that makes you want to move, to the idea of a love that only has one weakness the story twists and turns. Viewers of this movie absolutely love this movie and what it brings with it. The actors/actresses are so perfectly chosen that the chemistry is nearly suffocating. As the story progresses you see how dynamic each character is and how hard a job the actors/actresses have. As Christian and Satine work together, his words echo through your mind, “The greatest thing is to love and to be loved in return.”- Christian from Moulin Rouge!
