Words Against the Lord “‘Your words have been harsh against Me,’ Says the LORD, Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’ {14} You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the LORD of hosts?’” (Malachi 3:13-14). It is hard for us to imagine such impudence!

What some “speak against” God… His existence (Psa. 14:1; 19:1-4)

Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”

Psalm 19:1-4 “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. {2} Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. {3} There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. {4} Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world…”

What some “speak against” God… His existence (Psa. 14:1; 19:1-4) His creative power (Evolution VS Gen. 1:1)

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

2 Peter 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, {21} for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

What some “speak against” God… His existence (Psa. 14:1; 19:1-4) His creative power (Evolution VS Gen. 1:1) His Word (Deny inspiration) 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21 His Son (Not Son of God) John 15:17-23; John 1:14

John 5:17-23 “But Jesus answered them, ‘My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.’ {18} Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God”… …{22} “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, {23} that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”

John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Note: Why would he call us to diligence that we might rightly divide the word, if it is beyond our capability?

Ephesians 3:1-4 when you read, you may understand “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles; {2} if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, {3} how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, {4} by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ).”

What some “speak against” God… His existence (Psa. 14:1; 19:1-4) His creative power (Evolution VS Gen. 1:1) His Word (Deny inspiration) 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21 His Son (Not Son of God) John 5:17-23; John 1:14 His Ability (Can’t Understand Bible Alike) 2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 3:1-4 His Impartiality (Limited Atonement) John 3:16; Hebrews 2:9; Matthew 11:28-30

Hebrews 2:9 for everyone “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.”

Matthew 11:28-30 all you who labor and are heavy laden “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. {29} Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. {30} For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

End of those who speak against God “‘For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,’ Says the LORD of hosts, ‘That will leave them neither root nor branch. {2} But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. {3} You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,’ Says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 4:1-3).
