3 Alaska Assessment - Spring 2006 3 Length of Assessment Changes in 2006 –Eliminate field test writing prompt reduces test time by approximately 30 minutes –Eliminate one field test reading passage reduces test time by approximately 20 minutes –Increase number of field test forms from 10 to 14 decreases length of all content areas by reducing the number of field test items on each form

22 Alaska Assessment - Spring 2006 22 Supervised vs. Monitored Supervised Lunch Having an adult in attendance with groups of students. Monitored Lunch Proctors ensure that students do not visit lockers, access instructional or resource materials, discuss the exam, use electronic devices (including cell phones and Internet/email devices), or leave campus. Restroom trips must also be monitored. Student monitoring should ensure that students do not exchange information with those students continuing the test as well as those who have already completed the test.
