2. dassies
The dassie or hyrax is a small, rodent-like creature, related to the elephant.

3. eagle
A large strong bird with a curved beak. It hunts small animals, birds, and fish. Eagles can fly very high.

4. desert
A very dry place where it doesn’t rain much and where not many kinds of plants can grow. There is a lot of sand in most deserts.

5. driftwood
Wood that has been swept ashore or on a beach. Wind, water or people can make it come ashore.

6. riverbed
Land where water has been or currently flows.

7. hammock
A bed make of canvas material or rope that has cords or rope at the end of it to tie onto a tree or a stand.

8. shadow
A dark area of shade made when someone or something stands in the way of the sun or a light.
