3 Venezuela Venezuela is in the northern part of South America. Venezuela means Little Vince, from a man who discovered it. Venezuela also has mountains and caribbeans. The capital of Venezuela is Caracas. In 1991, the population was 18,105,265 excluding Jungle Indians living in the remote interior. Venezuela is also three times bigger than Texas.

4 Venezuela History The name Venezuela is believed to have originated from the cartographer Amerigo Vespucci who worked together with Alonzo de Ojeda. In 1499 their expedition was led along the northwestern coasts Gulf of Venezuela. People think that Venezuela was first found at least 15,000 years ago!!

5 Diseases in Venezuela Infants in Venezuela stood at 16 deaths per 1,000 births in 2004. 17% of potable water is lacking access in Venezuela. Also 3% of sewage is treated. Most cities lack treatment facilities. Some people are going to obtain vaccination for diseases such as typhoid, yellow fever, cholera hepatitis A, B and D.

6 Venezuelas Education Schools in Venezuela dont have many supplies for the kids. They also dont have that much money to make a better school.

7 Poverty in Venezuela There is much poverty in Venezuela! Most people in Venezuela live in boxes or even in the streets and that is so sad. People who live in houses have bad conditions of walls, heating, and also bad sleeping conditions. People sleep on concrete!!!!!

8 Dirty Drinking Water There are a lot of diseases going on in Venezuela. I am going to tell you right now about the water source. They said that children in Venezuela die of waterbone illness EVERY 15 seconds. 1 Billion people dont have clean water there and one in three lacks a basic toilet.
