OJT – On the Job Training Time Cards - State Board of Education Rules Chapter 6A-1.044(6)(c) The attendance of a pupil who is assigned to an on-the-job instructional program…shall be reported as being in attendance when documented through the use of a time card... To receive FTE funding, time cards must be completed by the students and kept on site by the school. Students in OJT will have a specific course code in their class schedule for the time they are at the job.
Dual Enrollment Universities/CC - The K-12 school of enrollment codes the courses taken at these schools. TIS will have the course code they need for the specific class being taken. Each University/CC has a distinct school number that is entered as the school site of instruction. The school of enrollment is still their K-12 school.
Dual Enrollment Attendance There has historically been a problem getting the University/CC professors to provide attendance records to the public schools. One solution is to provide a form and have the students get a signature from the professor each day they attend the class. These records must be kept for FTE auditing purposes.
Florida Virtual School (FVS) Students that take on-line courses from the FVS are in the schools data base but the course is there just for record keeping (student gets credit), the school does not receive FTE, the FTE flag should be N.
Teacher Certifications ESOL ESE English Math Science Social Studies Computer Literacy
Teacher Certifications Teachers teaching out-of field must have completed the following before FTE week. * Received School Board approval, and * Notified all parents of students in classes taught by an out-of-field teacher. This must be done each year (and each semester) the teacher teaches out-of-field.
Teacher Certifications ESOL/ELL teachers must have proper in- service training hours. This includes teachers with one or more LEP students receiving ESOL funding.
Teacher Certifications If there is a question whether the teacher is certified to teach a course, please send the information to the district personnel office. Also, all parental notification documents must be kept at the school for a minimum of three years, and possibly longer if the FTE audit has not been completed.
Drop-Ins Students from private schools or home schoolers can enroll in a public school. The public school would enroll that student for the class requested. This would be one of the few times a student would not earn the full 0.5 FTE for a semester.
DID YOU KNOW? Study Hall is no longer funded by the FEFP.
