1 Key Stage 2 Assembly Comenius 2008 – 2010 And Remembrance Sunday

2 What is Comenius? A project that gives our school the opportunity to learn about schools in other countries. A project that gives our school the opportunity to learn about schools in other countries. A project that gives you a sense of a wider world A project that gives you a sense of a wider world

3 What countries are involved? Over the last few years, Schools from Spain and France have been involved with us in the project. Over the last few years, Schools from Spain and France have been involved with us in the project. Over the next 2 years Schools from Northern Ireland, Holland, Germany and Turkey will be involved. 4 What does Comenius mean for you? A lucky few will get the chance to travel to another country A lucky few will get the chance to travel to another country You could make new friends with children in a foreign school You could make new friends with children in a foreign school You could have an experience that no other child in Leeds will have! 5 The next idea! 7 Remembrance Sunday A tribute to the people who gave their lives in fighting to protect the future of others and of our country. 9 The Peace Prayer Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be known as the children of God. But I say to you that hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those that curse you, pray for those that abuse you. To those who strike you on the cheek, offer the other also and from those who take away your cloak, do not withold your coat as well. Give to everyone who begs from you and of those who take away your goods, do not ask them again. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. AMEN Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be known as the children of God.
