Your Name Your Tribal College 2013 NASA - Kiksapa Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) NASA Cooperative Agreement NNX14AK04A

Discussion Overview Tell the Audience what you will be discussing with them today. Background, Objective statement Materials and methods Results and discussion Your recommendations for future work

Background Tell the story of your project and why its important to you, your tribe, to NASA etc

Background continued… Continue background story if necessary

Objective Statement Use the objective statement from your workplan Ho; Distribution of Russian Olive is not changing with time Ha: Distribution of Russian olive is changing with time.

Materials and Methods Use 2-3 slides to demonstrate the materials you used and the methods you followed on your project. This is the recipe of your work. Describe what you did and how you did it. Make sure you list the spatial data that you used, the coordinate system and the date of the data Discuss the on site methods that you used if you have those.

Materials and Methods continued Use additional slides to describe your methods and materials you used to do your work.

Results and Discussion This is where you tell the world what you found. What did your data show you? What was the final results of all your hard work? Use tables, graphs and maps to illustrate your findings. Pictures pictures pictures!

Results and Discussion continued Use additional Slides if necessary

Recommendations and future work If you had unlimited time and money what are the next steps you would take to continue this work? What would you do next Tell the world what you recommend should happen next

Literature Cited List all your literature sources here Include journal articles, and citations DO NOT INCLUDE WIKIPEDIA SOURCES!!!!

Questions? Use this slide to prompt your audience for questions

TITLE OF THE PROJECT Bull Bennett PhD; Kiksapa Consulting Abstract – last thing you write 150 words captures entire study Background / Introduction 1-2 paragraphs Materials and Methods – as long as it needs to be (within reason) Results Russian Olive 97 Russian Olive 10 Difference Map Describe what this picture is Discussion 1-2 paragraphs Russian olives dist is incr3easing with time. In 97 total hectares of RO was 2billion. However in 2010 RO increased to 3 billion hectares Conclusion and recommendations 1-2 Paragraphs In conclision I found that RO was increasing over time. Future work should include anticipated RO distribution under the IPCC climate scenarios Lit Cited Acknowledgement s- like this or Acknowledgements – like this- your choice Kiksapa logo NASA logo TCU logo Abstract This is my abstract

Abstract 150 words Russian Olive (genus and spp) is invasive to Navajo Nation. I loexamined RO proliferation across NN using NAIP data from NRCS or USDa to determine how distribution has changed with time. NAIP data was exported in to ARC 10 and supervised classiffications were conducted on the time series. My findings sugges that RO is increasing with time. 2 billina HA were identified in 1997 while in 2010 I identified 3 billina ha. Future work should consider the implication of RO distribution under IPCC climate scenarios Introduction and background 1-2 paragraphs Materials and Methods – as long as it needs to be (within reason) Results – use your graphics!!!! Display your data – tables, figures, charts etc.. Put this in the middle of the poster as that is where everyone's eyes will be drawn to. Discussion 1-2 paragraphs where you describe what your data means. Conclusion and Recommendations 1 paragraph or bulleted points describing what it all means in a greater scope. And what do you recommend needs to be done next Literature cited – list all important literature relevant to your project Acknowledgements – list all that made your work possible. Place it below your lit cited or you can run it across the bottom of your poster. Your preference.

Mandatory elements for your project report Abstract Intro and Background Objective statemetn Materials and methods including data sources Results Discussion and conclusion Acknowledgments Literature cited Make sure you have a cover page Reports submit in Word document
