Children witnessing domestic violence and abuse during access In addition to direct abuse disclosures, in 1,221 calls it was reported that children were present in the home where domestic violence took place. 261 women disclosed to the Women’s Aid Helpline that their abuser was using access visits to continue the domestic violence against her. On 68 occasions women disclosed that their children were being physically, emotionally and sexually abused during unsupervised access visits with their fathers.
