9 Percents Percent is That means 50% is 50 per (or out of) 100 2% is 2 per 100 100% is 100 per 100 ( or one whole or 1) 312% is 312 per 100 (Percents can be more than 100. This means that they are more than one whole) Since each percent means per 100 it can be written as a fraction Ex. 17%= 17/ 100 20%= ____________= (Can this be simplified?) 200%= ___________= (why is the denominator 100?)
