The original belief of reincarnation Reincarnation in Buddhism Buddhism denies the existence of a permanent self that reincarnates from one life to the next. The illusion of an existing self is generated by a mere heap of five aggregates (skandha), which suffer from constant becoming and have a functional cause-effect relation: 1) the body, also called the material form (rupa), 2) feeling (vedana) - the sensations that arise from the body’s sense organs, 3) cognition (sanna) - the process of classifying and labelling experiences, 4) mental constructions (sankhara) - the states which initiate action, and 5) consciousness (vijnana) - the sense of awareness of a sensory or mental object. The five elements are impermanent (anitya), undergo constant transformation and have no abiding principle or self. Humans usually think that they have a self because of consciousness. But being itself in a constant process of becoming and change, consciousness cannot be identified with a self that is supposed to be permanent. Beyond the five aggregates nothing else can be found in the human nature.

IS THIS THE RESULT OF REINCARNATION ?

Reincarnation is the belief that when one dies, one's body decomposes, but something of oneself is reborn in another body. It is the belief that one has lived before and will live again in another body after death. The bodies one passes in and out of need not be human. One may have been a Doberman in a past life, and one may be a mite or a carrot in a future life. Some tribes avoid eating certain animals because they believe that the souls of their ancestors dwell in those animals. A man could even become his own daughter by dying before she is born and then entering her body at birth

The most famous case of past life regression through hypnosis is that of Ruth Simmons. In 1952, her therapist, Morey Bernstein, took her back past the point of her birth. Suddenly, Ruth began to speak with an Irish accent and claimed that her name was Bridey Murphy, who lived in 19th century Belfast, Ireland. Ruth recalled many details of her life as Bridey, but, unfortunately, attempts to find out if Ms. Murphy really existed were unsuccessful. There was, however, some indirect evidence for the truth of her story: under hypnosis, Bridey mentioned the names of two grocers in Belfast from whom she bought food, Mr. Farr and John Carrigan. A Belfast librarian found a city directory for 1865-1866 that listed both men as grocers. Her story was told both in a book by Bernstein and in a 1956 movie, "The Search for Bridey Murphy."

The Symbolic meaning of Birds

BIRD - denotes personality characteristics, usually high characteristics of beauty, joy and love that transcendent quality that lifts man from his lower self to his higher self, from the material world to the spiritual world - see specific bird type for other connotations A dark, ugly bird can denote a person's state of love in the negative context. To see a bird fly can symbolize the desire to fly free or to reach heaven like the angels.
