20 Office Locations Staff will be responsible for sorting and removing trash daily from any personal trash receptacles located at desks. Sorted materials need to be disposed within the bin system pictured above. This three bin system will be set up in centralized locations within all office buildings. Waste from these bins will be picked up daily, when full. Document # DZF.SMS.305 Waste Guide

23 Events For large zoo events, please refer to the Facilities Department guide for waste sorting.Facilities Department guide Prior to any large event, please contact the Waste to Energy Staff member to discuss a waste disposal plan. Suggested practices include: Contract language outlining waste to energy guidelines Only compostable service ware (dishes, flatware, cups, etc.) to be used on zoo grounds All metals and glass will be recycled in proper receptacle Cardboard needs to be broken down and segregated from other recyclables Any handouts to guests need to meet waste to energy guidelines For events such as Boo at the Zoo (or similar types of events), special consideration needs to be made for waste generated during this event due to foil candy wrappers.
