Nervous System Every Child Stronger Every Life Longer

What is the Nervous System? The Nervous System is the part of the human body that coordinates every function and action!

There Are TWO!!! Central Nervous System (CNS)- The brain and the spinal cord Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)- The nerves and fibers that interconnect the Nervous system.

Cerebum- The thinking part of the brain and it controls your voluntary muscles — the ones that move when you want them to t Cerebullum- controls balance, movement, and coordination (how your muscles work together). The Main Office!!

Brain Stem- The brain stem is in charge of all the functions your body needs to stay alive, like breathing air, digesting food, and circulating blood. Pituitary Gland- Its job is to produce and release hormones into your body. Hypothalamus- your brain's inner thermostat (that little box on the wall that controls the heat in your house)

1) What part of your brain is responsible for voluntary actions? 2) After the section of the brain creates the signal, where does the signal travel to next. 3) What role do nerves play in all of this? 4) How do muscle contractions occur?

As a group, brainstorm different ways that we can improve brain function/health by making healthy lifestyle choices!
