1 foot of masking tape Mrs. Davis’s Materials: Tape Measure Stopwatch

4 Paper Tower Challenge INSTRUCTIONS
Build the Tallest Freestanding Structure. The structure will be measured from table top to the highest point of the structure. Use as Much or as Little of the Kit as you need. You Can Cut or Tear the Paper and/or Tape The Challenge Lasts 18 minutes. What questions do you have about the instructions?

MATERIALS: A bag containing the following items 20 Sticks of uncooked spaghetti noodles 1 yard of string & scissors 1 yard of masking tape 1 regular sized marshmallow Paper & pencil (supplied by you) Mrs. Davis’s Materials: Tape Measure Stopwatch

11 Marshmallow Tower Challenge
INSTRUCTIONS Build the Tallest Freestanding Structure. The structure will be measured from table top to top of marshmallow The Entire Marshmallow Must be on Top. Use as Much or as Little of the Kit as you need. You Can Break up the Spaghetti, String or Tape The Challenge Lasts 18 minutes. DO NOT EAT THE MATERIALS What questions do you have about the rules?

14 Reflections In your Engineering Notebook (on graph paper) answer the following questions in complete sentences: What were 3 reasons that you think Mrs. Davis had you complete the Marshmallow Tower Challenge today? What did you learn from the challenge? What were some things you would do differently if you had to complete the tower challenge again?
