2 On June, 14th, 1890 the emperor Alexander III has signed the Decree about establishment in six districts of Russia of industrial schools including the joint industrial school in Kazan. On 9 of January, 1919 the Polytechnical institute had 4 faculties such as chemical, mechanical, architectural and economic.

3 On January, 13th, 1930 on the basis of chemical faculty of Polytechnical institute and chemical faculty of the Kazan state university the Kazan chemical institute of technology named Butlerov has been created In 1935 the institute has been renamed into the Kazan chemical institute of technology named Kirov (KCIT)

4 In 1992 KCIT named Kirov has received the new status - The Kazan state technological university (КSTU) with 9 faculties and 25 specialties. Since 2010 KSTU is the National research university of chemistry and technology of advanced materials «Kazan state technological university»

9 Theoretical and practical experience of KSTU in the field of the higher vocational training has formed the basis for the entering by university in number of four institutions of Russia (along with S-PETU, USAU, MISA) – coauthors of the federal project «Working out of the mechanism of practical scale introduction of two-level training in engineering education system in Russia» within the limits of the Federal target program of a development of education (2006-2010). КSTU is the base institution on working out of the state educational standards of the higher vocational training for bachelors, masters and experts in a direction «Chemical technology and biotechnology». TRANSFER TO TWO LEVEL EDUCATION

10 During work on the project all basic stages of developmental working out are realized: from the technical project to a pre-production model or an experimental batch. The individual curriculum providing studying of additional subjects, programs correspond to the project content (including training), and also replacement of some educational forms (term papers and projects, practice, etc.) corresponding to the work on the project is formed. Special laboratories and areas of the general using are organized such as an erecting, model, test and others. PROJECT-AND-ACTIVITY EDUCATION Goal: Practical using of knowledge and skills of design, research and organizational- administrative activity on an example of working out of innovative projects of creation of devices, systems or the software products focused on their further commercial use.

In KSTU the Center of shared using of scientific and the research-and-production equipment on research of power sated materials and products also is created.

18 In 2010 the Kazan state technological university receive the status «national research». КГТУ is among 29 best institutions of Russia. It is present elite of Russian education. Following the results of 2009 of Ministry of Education КSTU is in 10 place among technical institutions of Russia.
