THE CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 139:16b-18a,23-24) All the days ordained for me WERE WRITTEN IN YOUR BOOK long before even one of them came to be. HOW PRECIOUS TO ME ARE YOUR THOUGHTS, O GOD,

How vast is the sum of them. WERE I TO COUNT THEM THEY WOULD OUTNUMBER the grains of sand in the sea. SEARCH ME, O GOD, and know my heart; TEST ME AND KNOW MY ANXIOUS THOUGHTS

See if there is any offensive way in me, AND LEAD ME IN THE WAY EVERLASTING.

**THE OPENING HYMN #157 ‘THE LOVE OF GOD’

The love of God is greater far(1) than tongue or pen can ever tell; It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled and pardoned from His sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.

When years of time shall pass away (2) And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, When men who here refuse to pray, on rocks and hills and mountains call, God’s love so sure shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race- The saints’ and angels’ song. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the oceans fill (3) and were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill And every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Tho’ stretched from sky to sky. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure- The saints’ and angels’ song.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON Psalm 140:6-7a O Lord, I say to You, “You are my God; Hear my prayer for mercy; You, Sovereign Lord, are my strong Deliverer.”

A TIME OF SHARING WITH GOD’S CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

THE HOLY SCRIPTURE Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Jesus and asked,"Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Ephesians 5:15-20 Be very careful, then, how you live ‑‑ not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to intemperance. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

THE SONG OF PREPARATION #118 ‘IN HIS TIME’

THE SONG OF PREPARATION ‘IN HIS TIME’ (1) In His time, In His time He makes all things beautiful in His time; Lord, please show me every day As You’re teaching me Your way That You do just what You say in Your time.

(2) In Your time, You make all things beautiful in your time; Lord, my life to you I bring May each day I have to sing Be to You a lovely thing in Your time.

THE SERMON (Please see the Sermon Outline) TIME IS QUICKLY PASSING Luke 10:38-42 Ephesians 5:15-20 Bayshore Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein

PRINCIPLE #1 BE CAREFUL HOW WE LIVE BECAUSE OUR TIME ON THIS EARTH IS LIMITED (Ephesians 5:15) Psalm 39:4 Show me, O Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days so that I might be more aware of how quickly my life is passing by. Psalm 90:10 The length of our days is 70 years ‑ or 80, if we have the strength. They quickly pass by, and then we fly away.

PRINCIPLE #2 BECAUSE OUR TIME IS LIMITED, LET’S MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY. (Ephesians 5:16a) [ WHY? ] (Ephesians 5:16b) BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL.

PRINCIPLE #3 UNDERSTAND WHAT THE LORD’S WILL IS FOR YOU (Ephesians 5:17) To assist us in discerning God’s will He has given us: Scripture The Holy Spirit Reason Friends Circumstances Common Sense

THREE WAYS TO WISELY USE OUR LIMITED GOD-GIVEN TIME (1) Our VERTICAL relationship with God (2) Our HORIZONTAL relationship with loved ones and friends (3) Fully living the PRESENT MOMENT God has given to us HOW WE WASTE OUR GOD-GIVEN TIME Regrets of the past Anxiety about the future

May God help us to wisely use the time we have been given for God’s glory and for the very best God has for each one of us

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. 34 THE CLOSING HYMN #657 ‘CLEANSE ME’ (Search Me, O God)

(1) Search me, O God and know my heart today; Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts I pray. See if there be some wicked way in me; Cleanse me from every sin and set me free.

(2) I praise You, Lord, for cleansing me from sin; Fulfill Your Word and make me pure within. Fill me with fire where once I burned with shame; Grant my desire to magnify Your name.

(3) Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Yours; Fill my poor heart with Your great love divine. Take all my will, my passion, self and pride; I now surrender, Lord, in me abide.

(4) O Holy Ghost, revival comes from You; Send a revival, start the work with me. Your Word declares You will supply our need; For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.
