5 Why crewing ? Crewing is probably the most common way for people to discover sailing, through a friend or family member Crewing is probably the most cost effective way to discover sailing. Most club members do not own a boat – they crew for someone else Crewing is very flexible – you can crew at various levels on the sailing pathway, in various roles, and supplement your sailing with courses to develop sailing skills Crewing can be very time effective – especially after work/ twilight crewing

Keelboat or Dinghy Racing (various levels) or social racing / cruising Week or weekend Twilight crewing / sailing – everything gemba said new participants want Fun & friendly participation rather than pure “racing” No large commitment – either membership or time Weekdays or weekends Adventurous but safe
