Antecedent: the noun/pronoun that a pronoun refers to Pronoun and Antecedent must match in number and gender

Indefinite Pronouns as Antecedents: -refer to handout - Singular indefinite = singular pronoun - Plural indefinite = plural pronoun - Either/Or indefinite = look at what it is referring to

Singular antecedents joined by or or nor = singular pronoun Bill or Buddy will lend his microscope. Antecedents joined by and = plural pronoun Bill and Buddy will lend their microscope.
