4 Year long essential question: How can we ensure that we close opportunity gaps for all our students, leaving nothing to chance, as we move from good to great?

5 CONTENT OBJECTIVES Leaders will analyze the Five Insights for Success in the article Leaving Nothing to Chance. Leaders will evaluate the Good to Great Diagnostic Tool

6 LANGUAGE OBJECTIVES Leaders will read the article and write a brief group-statement that summarizes how the insights can support students and teachers at their school. Groups will discuss the summaries with each other. Leaders will read the diagnostic tool and discuss ideas gained from previewing the tool.

7 SIGNIFICANT TASKS Whole Group views the first page of the article, Leaving Nothing to Chance. Break into five groups. Each group will use the Jigsaw Carousel Protocol to analyze one of The Insights for Success from the article. Together they will analyze the insight and discuss how their school could use the information based on what we’ve learned from our data and what we know about our students. Each group will compose a brief statement that summarizes how the insight can support students and teachers at their school. Group discussion. In pairs, leaders will preview the Good to Great Diagnostic Tool and find ideas they can use in their schools. LUNCH 12:30-1:45 What role can CESDP associates play to most effectively support your school’s EPSS? What materials would be most supportive? Share plans and possibilities.
