Westlund’s 4 th Grade Research Team 2013 By Rachel Kozlowski.

4 I am learning about the core of the Earth. What is inside our planet, Earth? The core is in the center of the Earth. The outer core is a barrier to the inner core. The mantle is a very hot layer of magma. There are also the earth’s plates. If the plates start to move, they will start to move again, but if they do move, the plates can cause an earthquake. That is what is Inside our planet, Earth. Gravity is a force that pulls people toward the center of the earth.

1 The Solar System. Neptune is 17 times bigger than Earth. Neptune is named after the king of water. Neptune’s orbit is 165 Earth days. Neptune’s day is 19 Earth hours. Pluto is the smallest planet. Pluto isn’t a real planet. Pluto is a “dwarf planet”. In the late 1990’s people started to argue about if Pluto was a real planet or not. Earth is the only planet we know that supports life by far. Earth is our home planet. Sun is another word for star.

3 Ecology. There are a lot of living things in ecology. Plants, animals, humans, and a lot of other things in ecology.

2 Seasons. When the Earth is tilted on it’s axis, that is how the seasons come during the year. The earth is spinning every 24 hours, which results in one rotation. Foxes turn white in the winter. Seasons. When the earth is tilted on it’s axis, that is how the seasons come.
