In 1995, the sport of Volleyball was 100 years old! The sport originated in the United States, and is now just achieving the type of popularity in the U.S. that it has received on a global basis, where it ranks behind only soccer among participation sports. Today there are more than 800 million players worldwide who play Volleyball at least once a week. In 1895, William G. Morgan, an instructor at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Mass., decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball to create a game for his classes of businessmen which would demand less physical contact than basketball. He created the game of Volleyball (at that time called mintonette). Morgan borrowed the net from tennis, and raised it 6 feet 6 inches above the floor, just above the average man's head.

During a demonstration game, someone remarked to Morgan that the players seemed to be volleying the ball back and forth over the net, and perhaps "volleyball" would be a more descriptive name for the sport. On July 7, 1896 at Springfield College the first game of "volleyball" was played. In 1900, a special ball was designed for the sport. In 1916, in the Philippines, an offensive style of passing the ball in a high trajectory to be struck by another player (the set and spike) were introduced.

In 1917, the game was changed from 21 to 15 points. In 1920, three hits per side and back row attack rules were instituted. In 1930, the first two-man beach game was played. In 1934, the approval and recognition of national volleyball referees. In 1947, the Federation Internationals De Volley-Ball (FIVB) was founded.

In 1948, the first two-man beach tournament was held. In 1949, the initial World Championships were held in Prague, Czechoslovakia. In 1964, Volleyball was introduced to the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In 1974, the World Championships in Mexico were telecast in Japan. In 1987, the FIVB added a Beach Volleyball World Championship Series. In 1990, the World League was created. In 1995, the sport of Volleyball was 100 years old! In 1996, 2-person beach volleyball was added to the Olympics

SERVE There are two basic types of serves. One is overhand; where the player will throw the ball in the air first, then hit it. The second is underhand, where the server will hold the ball and swing their other arm underneath the ball to hit it.. Overhand Serve Underhand Serve

Pass or reception This is usually set up by the setter of the game. It is used in order to take the ball and give it to the other players on your own team. They will then have the ability to put the ball to the other side like they want to. You can either pass by the forearm or by hitting the ball overhead.

The Set The set is usually the second contact that a team makes with the ball. For this volleyball skill the main goal is to put the ball in the air in such a way that it can be driven by an attack into the opponent's court. The setter coordinates the offensive movements of a team, and is the player who ultimately decides which player will actually attack the ball.

The Attack The attack, also known as the spike, is usually the third contact a team makes with the ball. The object of this volleyball skill is to handle the ball so that it lands on the opponent's court and cannot be defended. A player makes a series of steps (the "approach"), jumps, and swings at the ball.

The Block A block that is aimed at completely stopping an attack, thus making the ball remain in the opponent's court, is called offensive. A well- executed offensive block is performed by jumping and reaching to penetrate with one's arms and hands over the net and into the opponent's area.

The Dig he volleyball skill of digging is the ability to prevent the ball from touching one's court after a spike or attack, particularly a ball that is nearly touching the ground. In many aspects, this skill is similar to passing, or bumping: overhand dig and bump are also used to distinguish between defensive actions taken with fingertips or with joined arms.

What are the good features of a slide presentation? In making a slide presentation we learn many things aside from the word itself but also the pictures shown the arrangement in making of it. In a slide presentation we see some effect which the students most likely to seen because of the animation works, the attractiveness of the color and the most important is the student not bord when the class is going on. And this is the time that the teacher do their best to caught their attention by the slide presentation you made. Which of these features in the slide presentation you made? -attractiveness of the color -simple but understandable -also the pictures - direct to the learner -animation - Which features are not present in the slide presentation you made? - No sound effect - -less graphic I used

Rhena Lynn Novises - In making this slide presentation it’s take time to make it to presentable enough to the student who want to learn. And also I overcome some difficulty in making it by some doing some enough time to search some available resources of your topic or your lesson. Azenate Narvasa-Baco In making also a slide presentation for it’s a hard time in making a slide specially doing it because I hardly making of it.

Jennifer Balaba For me it some resources difficult to find and some are not available.and also it making of it, you should set a time because in making a slide presentation is need more time to present it in your class. Apple Mary Joy Vilallon For me also it need time to make it presentable to your class.
