1 Best Practices for Research Involving Children and Adolescents Wednesday June 23rd, 4:00-5:30 PM The CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health and the CIHR Ethics Office are pleased to announce the release for consultation of draft Best Practices for Health Research Involving Children and Adolescents. This document analyses the international norms and standards for ethical engagement with children, adolescents and their families involved in health research. It outlines 10 guidelines to help guide researchers and Research Ethics Boards. Aimed at child and adolescent health research generally, the document also addresses specific issues in longitudinal research, genomic research, palliative care research and novel therapies. Join us for a consultation session on the draft content and proposed application of the Best Practices. It’s the first step in a process to help REBs build a common and efficient approach to the review of health research with children & adolescents. Be part of the change you want to happen... Attend the discussion and help shape the way REBs approach child and adolescent health research! Participants are asked to familiarize themselves with the document in advance.
