Thank you for coming to Samsbiblestories.com and for taking a look at the lessons I have added. These lessons are the result of years of teaching Sunday school at an Elementary level. God has richly blessed me in being able to share His Word with thousands of young people. It is now my privilege to share them with you. Please feel free to use them with your class, wherever God has planted you. The only think I ask is that you drop me a line and let me know who you are and how the lessons are working for you. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. samueldselby@gmail God Bless you, Sam God Bless

19 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. Bible Story Luke 19:1-10 A long, long time ago, back when Jesus walked the earth, a tough job to have was being tax collector. Though tax collectors typically had a lot of money, they were generally not well liked by members of their community. This was because they cheated people out of their money. For example, if you had to pay ten dollars in taxes, the tax collector could very easily say, “You owe me twenty dollars” and pocket the extra money.

19 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. Bible Story Luke 19:1-10 And the only thing worse than being a tax collector??? Being the CHIEF Tax Collector!

3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.. Bible Story Luke 19:1-10 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. Bible Story Luke 19:1-10

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.” Bible Story Luke 19:1-10 But Later on at Zacchaeus’ house: 8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Bible Story Luke 19:1-10

Bottom Line for this week… When people are forgiven, it can change them.
