1 ACP WG B Work Program Frequency Planning Criteria –VDL Mode 2 –VDL Mode 3 –VDL Mode 4 VDL Mode 4 Global Signaling Channel On-board aircraft compatibility

2 Papers for WG B 18 TH Meeting, February 2005 Bangkok, Thailand Working Paper 9, Report of VDL Mode 3 Voice Quality Tests With Radio Interference, by Yasuyoshi Nakatani, Japan

3 VDL Frequency Planning WGB/17 completed the frequency assignment planning material, including relevant guidance material, for VHF digital link (VDL) Modes 2 VDL Mode 3 could operate on the fourth adjacent 25 kHz channel from a DSB-AM assignment and on the second adjacent 25 kHz channel from a VDL Mode 3 assignment. Test planning for VDL Mode 4, including the need for an assignment in the MHz band is on-going. Excerpt From ACP-Memo/02, 14/01/05, from ACP Secretary to Members, Aeronautical Communications Panel (ACP)

4 Summary VDL Mode 2 Frequency Planning Criteria 1 Number of Channels for no planning Note: 1.WGB16/WP14 Appendix (after Tokyo) from AMCP/8-WP/66 5J-20 Appendix J to the Report on Agenda Item 5.
