5 Less money – do things differently. We need to work together to promote: Information and advice about assistive technology Emarketplaces Self care and self management The whole spectrum of technology- from Poundland to Broadband! Integration and partnership working

6 Working with health partners, we need to develop a more integrated approach, working in partnership to ensure that we maximise the opportunities for people to move into supported housing as well as facilitating speedier discharge from hospital. Assistive technology has a key contribution to make.

Housing and housing services can play a significant part in prevention, for example, from a design/physical perspective, accessibility, having adequate heating and lighting, identifying and removing hazards or by identifying a person who needs to be on the housing register. In addition, community equipment, along with telecare, aids and adaptations can support reablement, promote independence contributing to preventing the needs for care and support.
