    Make a joyful shout to the Lord,

Come before His presence with singing.     Know that the Lord, He is God;

Spurgeon wrote, “Our happy God should be worshipped by a happy people; a cheerful spirit is in keeping with his nature, his acts, and the gratitude which we should cherish for his mercies.”

Focus on others and not on yourself!
Remember you are ultimately serving God!

We thank God by feeding the hungry
We thank God by welcoming strangers
We thank God by clothing others
We thank God by caring for the sick

The Lord is the only true God!
God is creator of all!
Thanksgiving is directed to God alone!
We are to come first with thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving leads to praise!
Thanksgiving helps focus on His attributes!

Serve – humanitarian effort
Worship – focused on God
When we develop an attitude of gratitude our focus will be oriented to God and we will fulfill the command to “put on the mind of Christ”. Then we will truly have hearts of compassion and love for others being like Christ in all things!
