1 Reading and Speaking In this part of the test, you will read one passages. You will be given 1.5 minutes to read the passage, and then you will be given 1 minute to sort out the messages conveyed in the passage. You will be provided with a piece of paper to jot down whatever notes you may have for the messages. Then you will be given 30 seconds to read the passage again to refresh your memory about the messages. After the second reading, you will be given 2 minutes to say (make a speech of) what you have read about the passage. Your speech will be recorded.

The beautiful dress she wore was created by Taiwan-born designer Jason Wu. As the cameras flashed that night, Jason Wu became the fashion world’s darling. Jason Wu was born in Taipei, but he has lived and studied around the world, including Vancouver, Tokyo, Paris, and now Manhattan. By the age of five, he knew he wanted to be a designer. He turned this dream into a career at sixteen by designing doll clothes, and he launched his own line of human clothes in 2006. His career success was sealed when Michelle Obama danced the night away in his one-shoulder white dress. Jason Wu travels to Asia every summer for inspiration. His designs combines modern life with high fashion and are known for their fine details and beautiful fabrics. Although Jason Wu is only twenty-six years old, he has already designed his way to success.
