1 Independent Farm Direct
Fair and Equitable Distribution for Farmers

2 Now Today, farm to table is a long process with many processing and distribution points. Farmer does all the work and receives very little or no money. Product moves through many channels before it actually reaches the consumer, lessening freshness, quality, nutrients gone – lose more and more of the value of food from the food. The IFD system corrects this problem – how we do that is the balance of this presentation.

3 Farm  value add  Consumer
ReFARMation IFD’s mission is to simplify the farm to table distribution and help independent farms profit from their efforts. Farm  value add  Consumer

4 The Mission FOOD – WATER – MEDICINE
Fair and equitable distribution for farmers Sustainable and profitable farms Safe, secure, local food supply Health and wellness through good food Fair & Equitable – allowing farmers to be profitable Non-profit – everything we bring in we give back – to farmers as profit; to the consumer as quality. Humanitarian – socially conscious, local and community based farming, value-add, distribution

5 Education Funding farmers and keeping them independent
Proprietary technology for security, privacy Farmers are struggling today with high interest rates, high taxes. They do not have the money to correct hundreds of problems from the soil to the table. Government interventions, such as subsidies, are not working. Giving money to farmers to buy their cattle or excess production simply to dispose of it is not a solution to the farmer or the consumer. Helping farmers find more outlets for their raw product is a real solution that can feed the world. Bringing processing plants (value add) and distribution solutions closer to independent farmers is part of the IFD solution. Educate consumers – educate farmers – educate students – educate government. We simply have to test the food and that is part of the process/system. Note: Ralph Dowdy – noise decibel story. 6 The System Grow more, grow better Value-add Distribution Marketing
Grow more/grow better – special, patent-pending feed processes, fertilizer processes allow farmers to grow more (quantity) and better (quality) – Picture shows difference using structured water v. tap water in the growing process. Value-add – local processing plants reduce waste, maintain food freshness Distribution – local distribution, delivery of fresher food products Marketing – advanced marketing gives farmers more outlets for food products, reducing food waste, IFD private labeling System – applies to all phases and facets of farming – IFD deals in meat, poultry, fish – each has its own system; nutritional crops – precise fertilizer and watering system ; fish – tank raise trout, salmon prawns, small lobsters, various other fish & crustaceans. Fruit – IFD watering systems – increase in nutritional value of food. Dairy – products – regional mini-dairy plants can process between 2,000 and 5,000 pounds of raw milk per day: Fed by small dairy farms with between <50 to 200 head, within a 60 to 100 mile radius of the plant. Improved growth with structured water

7 The Market Consumer E-commerce IFD Stores Import /Export
Consumers – growing desire for safer, fresher foods, fear of e-coli, pesticides, hormones E-commerce – fast access to food products, easy payment, delivery scheduling IFD Stores – point of sale IFD markets, roadside, labeling Import/Export – future – fresh hold system developed by NASA scientists – in conjunction with Heroes Assoc. Along with other technology – not ready to reveal details at this time – will enable import/export of IFD product. Information given under non-disclosure only. World market – everyone has to eat – it’s about what they are eating that IFD addresses – toxic v. organic, etc. ReFarmation efforts - dealing with modified fertilizer, watering systems, (fixing the soil) with end result of good food/bad food. 8 ReFARMation Strong belief in community survival Family and faith-based
Saving American farms The ReFARMation effort is built on a strong belief in community, family, and faith. American farms of all sizes participate in making food available and safe. Consumers are becoming more aware of what is in the foods they eat – pesticides and processing have led to an unhealthy society – obesity, disease, life-long health issues. Growth in sales of organic food products rises steadily - $26.6B in 2009, up 5.3% from 2008. As a result, food processors are feeling the pressure to produce more healthful foods – but can they keep up with the demand? Raw foods, whole foods – difficult to bring to the consumer due to current processing and distribution systems. ReFarmation alters the path of farm to table, bring more nutritious raw and whole foods to the table.

9 Backyard Farms Fish Greenhouse Small Game Energy Farm-raised trout
Self – sustaining farm. The Bible says that a family can grow all their food needs on 1 acre of land to survive four seasons. The American Indian taught the first immigrants to this land how to grow corn, a staple/commodity crop today. Rapid growth of farms in the U.S. led to rapid soil erosion, creating the great dust bowl of the 1930’s, which fueled the Great Depression. Land conservation and reclamation efforts that began during the New Deal have been helping. Awareness of effects of pollution, efforts to ‘go green.’ Desire of baby boomer and generation X to return to the farm with backyard efforts – gardens, greenhouses, small game such as chickens, goats. Rise in hobby farming. Taking this to the next level, and back to the Bible’s 1-acre theory, hobby farmers want to make a more earnest attempt to do even more with the backyard. IFD can help make that happen – through small investment – providing security and survival. Farm-raised trout

10 Community Survival Local mini processing plants
Serve families, communities Be prepared Continuing growth of backyard farms builds stronger communities – giving the ability to sustain/survive. At one time in our country, you could drive through a small town and see ‘open for business’ – now small towns are closing. Small towns and communities can thrive through ReFARMation efforts, bringing jobs, a safe food supply, energy sustainability, and opportunity – reasons for young people to stay close to home v. moving to cities. Reclaiming and protecting a simple, self-sustaining way of life. Involvement of local government – stress local – mayor, assemblyperson, town supervisor, chamber of commerce. 11 Mini Plants Proximity to Farm, Markets Easy Distribution
Meat and Dairy Green Jobs Regional mini dairy and meat processing plants handle raw product within a given radius – small, surrounding farmers have easy access. Local producers in conjunction with regionally-located mini plants reduce trucking and pollution with clean energy transportation. Low-mileage distribution of value-added products to the home or store outlets for consumer purchase. Battenkill Dairy – Washington County, NY – process their own final dairy products and offer local distribution. (See next slide)

12 Distribution Small trucks Patented containers Local IFD stores
IFD distribution – small trucks, patented containers, local deliveries – helping communities thrive through job creation, sustainability. Delivering quality food products to the consumer, from within their own community. Battenkill Dairy Products

13 Marketing IFD Brand Value-Added Local Dairy case in IFD store
Independent farmers face the challenge of marketing and selling their products. They are busy doing farm work. The IFD system gives independent farmers a channel to market and sell their products – in both the regional and national (even international) markets. The IFD value add and distribution systems augment marketing and sales. IFD Farmer  IFD value add plant/process  IFD distribution/retail/wholesale  IFD consumer Keeping income and restoring financial stability to small communities IFD certification ensures social responsibility to the foods people buy – signifying trust in the farmer and growing process. 14 Investment Socially responsible Humanitarian Non-profit
10+ years time & energy invested Ready to launch We all have the social responsibility to do better, to clean up our nation and stop pollution, practice energy conservation, and grow and demand good quality foods. By doing so it opens up wonderful opportunities for investors here and abroad to participate in this program as they can now invest in socially responsible financial opportunities which can be discussed in private sessions with various parties developing those opportunities. We are currently launching efforts here and abroad to increase our food supply, and with our unique container, fresh-hold systems, be able to export and import good foods as we connect the dots worldwide of farmers and consumers. For the first time in history we are able to get all parties to contribute ensuring strong investments and socially responsibility.
