2 Outcome 1 Participants will identify characteristics of a prepared graduate and apply the characteristics to their teaching standards.

3 TO BUILD THE BRIDGE KNOW THIS… “A good teacher makes you think even when you don’t want to.” (Fisher, 1998, Teaching Thinking)

4 The Prepared Graduate Possesses the knowledge and skills needed to enroll and succeed in credit- bearing, first- year courses at a two- or four-year college, trade school, technical school, without the need for remediation. Possesses the ability to apply core academic skills to real-world situations through collaboration with peers in problem solving, precision, and punctuality in delivery of a product, and has a desire to be a life- long learner.

5 TO BUILD THE BRIDGE KNOW THIS… The positive trajectory of the Prepared Graduate depends on both the K-12 and the cross-curricular connections.

6 Outcome 2 Participants will determine how the literacy standards support content and curriculum to bridge the gap between knowledge and application.

7 CONTENT & CURRICULUM Possesses the knowledge and skills needed to enroll and succeed in credit-bearing, first-year courses at a two- or four-year college, trade school, technical school, without the need for remediation LITERACY STANDARDS Possesses the ability to apply core academic skills to real-world situations through collaboration with peers in problem solving, precision, and punctuality in delivery of a product, and has a desire to be a life- long learner.
