4 PTA Polite  Help prevent an avalanche.  Help prevent shopper’s delight.  We don’t want you to be disappointed.

5 State Board Meetings Everyone is:  expected to respond to hospitality invitations.  welcome to give input, ask questions, and have their voices heard.  on board once a decision is made. Voting board members are expected to attend, and vote. Non – voting members share their concerns through their voting member representative or can attend the meeting at their own expense.

6 State Board Training All board members  are expected to attend when invited.  will submit an expense form.  On-line learning is in progress.

7 President’s Privilege Supporting the Scholarship fund

8 Conference Calls  Action Teams and Committees  Use Surveymonkey or a doodle poll  Call details  Do the homework ahead of time  Plan on an hour to an hour and a half

10 Emails and Phone Calls  Always reply  Time is important  Your opinions and ideas make a difference  We worry about you.

11 How We Reach Out Electronically Bulletin Everyone is expected to contribute. Send the articles to your VP for approval and submission. Website It’s everyone’s responsibility to review the site and help keep it current. Program Directors are expected to keep things current and relevant. Region and District Directors are expected to share events. Weekend Update Everyone is asked to contribute. Submissions should be submitted to your Vice President or the President by Wednesday for Friday dissemination.

12 How We Reach Out Electronically Facebook Everyone should want to contribute regularly. Send posts you wish to share with our viewers or inform Membership/Marketing Director. Let’s share the good things. regions. Spread the word. Twitter This is one more way to share and reach out Many of our followers are other associations. Let’s give them something to retweet about. Spread the word. Engage On line advocacy tool Hot topic issues Legislative updates Sample letter to our legislators Spread the word.

14 FOCUS Strategic Plan - To Enrich the lives of Illinois Children by being the premier parent resource, encouraging family and community engagement through programs, services and education.

15 “ ” OR It’s Great to have a strategic plan and adopt it – It’s another thing to make it happen. Be In, Be Real, Be Bold Continues….. What separates the great organizations from the mediocre organizations is that the Great ones take action.
