2 March 30, 2009 Free Journal—If you hate free journals, then write about what you plan to do on your break! I know it’s early, but what do you think you’d like to do?

3 Pd 1 Today we will: Demonstrate knowledge of sentence revision/editing. Evaluate student projects. Turn in evaluation sheets! Read “The Vengeance” pp. 633 to 639. Answer questions on Study Guide B “The Vengeance."

4 Pd 5 Today we will: Demonstrate knowledge of sentence revision/editing. Reading check: Who is Fred? Read pp. 70-74. List three things Storm does in this section. What do these things tell us about Storm?

5 Pd 6 Today we will: Demonstrate knowledge of sentence revision/editing. Review #1-5 on Study Guide B. Read pp. 634 to 639. Answer questions 6 - 9. Homework: Finish reading and questions.

6 Pd 7 Today we will: Demonstrate knowledge of sentence revision/editing. Review point of view notes. Identify the point of view in your novel. Explain how you know that is the point of view used by your author. Explain why he/she uses that point of view. Read silently or work on reading log.

10 Pd 5 Today we will: Complete Chapter 7. Answer questions for Chapter 7. Read Chapter 8, pp. 80 – 85. Try vocabulary challenge! Remember to bring a picture of your pet: dog, cat, whatever.

11 Pd 6 Today we will: Attend production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Complete journal and daily oral language. Read pp. 640 to 643. Complete questions 10-13 on study guide B. If you don’t complete the questions in class, they are homework.

12 Pd 7 Today we will: Take a quiz on last two reading assignments: Mar. 27 and Mar. 30. Work on Vocabulary Activity. Complete Active Reading Organizer with today’s reading. Write reading logs.

31 April 6, 2009 Today we are taking SRI. How did you do the last time? Think hard. Did you feel good about your score? Why? How do you predict you will do today? Why? This SRI will be your last for 8 th grade.

34 April 7, 2009 Growing up with brothers and sisters can be difficult. If you have siblings, discuss the benefits and shortcomings to your situation. If you are an only child, do the same. Would you rather have fewer siblings, or more? Do you think you’ll feel the same when you are an adult.
