TUESDAY, JAN. 13 TH p. 132, 133

TUESDAY, JAN. 13 TH 132 1/13/15 Tues. L.T.:I can review for my test by participating in bell review and writing important info on my notecard. DO NOW: Using the study guide, make a list of things you think you are not a meeting or exceeding in. ……………………………….. Reflection: After our review, what do you need to work on before taking the test tomorrow? 133 Title: Test Review Study guide taped in Notecard taped in Right side will be used for scratch paper for bell review

SPEED  T or F and why:  Average speed is a measurement of how fast you’re going at a single point in your travel.

SPEED  What is the speed equation?

B/U FORCES  Which statement is true and why:  1. An object’s average speed can also be its constant speed between 2 points.  2. An object’s average speed can never also be its constant speed between 2 points.

B/U FORCES  T or F and why:  When Ms. Kim is backing up her car, this is still considered acceleration.

B/U FORCES  T or F and why:  Acceleration and constant speed are the same thing.

SPEED  ChunDoong sometimes walks 250 meters to the corner store for a Vitamin Water. It takes him 1 minute to get there.  What is his round trip average speed in meters/minute?

SPEED AND B/U FORCES  ChunDoong and Ms. Kim decided they would meet up at the park. They agreed that they would both leave as soon as they hung up on their phones.  Ms. Kim walked continuously while ChunDoong stopped to sniff some plants, wait for the crosswalk to change, and to chase after some squirrels.  They reached their meeting point at exactly the same time (20 minutes later) and checked their pedometers. They saw that they had both traveled exactly.9 miles.  Q: What is Ms. Kim and ChunDoong’s average speed in mi/hr?  Q1: Who was traveling at constant speed and who was not? Why?

GRAPHS Q: Based on the previous scenario, which graph shows Ms. Kim’s motion and which shows ChunDoong’s motion? Why?

GRAPHS  This ball has been sitting here for 10 minutes without moving.  Draw a graph that shows the motion of this ball over the 10 minute period.

B/U FORCES Russell Wilson is about to catch this ball. (without looking, I might add…) Explain the forces acting on this ball at this moment. Use length of arrows to show how strong the force is direction of arrows to show in which way it is affecting the ball. Answer must include: diagram and verbal explanation.

B/U FORCES  The only way an object in motion can be considered to have balanced forces with friction is when ______________________.

B/U FORCES  If the forces on an object are calculated and result in a 0, forces are considered _____________________ on the object.
