3. Course Description Good Example: ANTH 102 - Biological and evolutionary origins of humans, with consideration of population genetics, living primates, fossil records and human variation. Includes eight laboratory experiences. Satisfies UNR science core curriculum. Course objectives identify key elements that must be taught every time the course is taught. 6. Student Learning Outcomes and Measures Outcomes describe the achieved results of the course. Outcomes must reflect the specific and measurable knowledge, skills, and abilities students demonstrate as a result of their experiences in the course. Outcomes should reflect what you need to assess; there is no required number of outcomes. Outcomes should logically relate to objectives. 7. Measures for Student Learning Outcomes You must identify the ways in which you will measure your SLOs. What specific activities will students complete that will enable you to determine a level of proficiency in relation to the student learning outcomes? How will the measurement of these activities provide you with solid evidence about whether or not students have achieved the outcome? Since the measures on the Master Course Outline represent the agreed-upon measures for the outcomes for a particular course, all faculty teaching that course must agree to use those measures. At TMCC, in addition to identifying the measure itself we identify the method by which we evaluate the measure. Just as objectives and outcomes identify the essential elements that are taught in all sections of a course, measures ensure that student work is evaluated consistently across sections.

8. Course Transfer Status Complete the NSHE Long Form. Complete the MCO form which identifies if the course is transferable or not. Attach an e-mail from institutional registrars approving transfer status. * If you want your course to meet the core curriculum at a Nevada university, you must gain approval from that institution.

9. TMCC General Education Status If you would like your course to meet TMCC General Education Status for an AA or AS, you need to indicate this to the CAP Committee for review. If you would like diversity recognition of your course, you must contact the VPAA/SS before bring forth your MCO to CAP.
